Baptist Health Lexington (formerly Central Baptist Hospital)

Central Baptist Hospital provides our Central Kentucky LOAL teams with many opportunities to serve our community throughout the week. We have been an established program at Baptist Health since 2010 when we participated in a pilot program dealing with stroke recovery. After an overwhelming response, we are now welcomed into all patient care areas except critical care units and waiting rooms.

On any given day you may see a child recovering from a broken leg, a mother patiently waiting to give birth, someone recovering from surgery, or family members waiting to take their loved one home. Everyday is different but on each and every visit we know we have comforted and brightened the day of those we have visited. Some of our biggest fans can be found in the halls as the the staff goes about their busy days taking care of patients and the hospital. No visit is complete without a stop by the nursing stations for pats, rubs and an occasional treat.

There are multiple days and times each week that are open for CKyLOAL visits. Visits can be tailored to the time you have available and the endurance of you and your companion– 30 minutes or the whole visitation period. A brief orientation is required. Group orientations will be scheduled throughout the year but may also be done on an individual basis.  No teams in training-fully certified teams only per hospital regulations.
